How is this different from other marketing platforms?

Unlike generic marketing platforms, Compost Toolshed is built specifically for compost organizations. We combine comprehensive marketing tools with industry-specific templates, proven workflows, and a community of compost professionals. Every feature is tailored to help spread composting awareness and education.

Do I need technical experience to use the platform?

Yes and no - the users of the Compost Toolshed can be trained on a specific task without prior technical knowledge.

The administration and configuration of the Compost Toolshed can be tricky for folks who aren’t tech savvy. That’s what we have the community for - you encountered a technical issue? Bring it to the next group meeting and we’ll do a screenshare to find a solution. You can also create a post in our private group to get support.

Group members learn together and share best practices, while agency clients have everything managed for them. The platform is designed to be user-friendly with intuitive interfaces.

What happens to my data if I decide to leave?

You have the opportunity to export your data before leaving. This includes your contact lists (export as csv files), campaign history, automation workflows, and analytics. We believe your data belongs to you and ensure you can take it with you.

PRICING & PLANS

What is your refund policy?

Each plan has a 14-day trial period - you won’t get charged until 14 days have passed. Feel free to cancel at any time without any charge for your subscription. If you use metered actions like phone calls, text messages or emails we will charge you according to your usage.

14 Days have passed but I am not satisfied. What can I do?

We offer a free 14 day trial because we have a 3 month minimum commitment. Once you enroll with our software and Compost Change Maker Community, we will be invested in your success and put forth work toward it. That being said, we won’t hold you hostage. We don’t like unhappy customers. Just talk to us. We will find a solution for you.

Why can't I start with the individual plan?

The individual plan is for users who are already familiar with the platform and have their systems in place. By starting with either our group or agency plan, you'll build the foundation and knowledge needed to successfully manage the platform independently.

Can I switch between plans?

Yes! You can transition between plans as your needs change. You can either downgrade to the individual plan once you are comfortable. You can also upgrade to agency support whenever you need more hands-on help.

What's included in the free tech setup guide?

Our 1-hour tech setup guide includes:

  1. Domain configuration

  2. Email server setup

  3. Social media integration

  4. Basic automation setup

  5. Phone/SMS configuration

  6. Initial platform orientation

Is there a minimum commitment period?

Group and agency plans require a 3-month minimum commitment to ensure you get the full value of the platform setup and training. Individual plans have no minimum commitment once you qualify and can be cancelled monthly.

Can I pause my subscription?

Yes, you can pause your subscription for up to 3 months while maintaining all your data and setups. You can resume your subscription within three months. After that time we will close your account.

Why are calls, text messages, and emails billed on a per-usage basis?

We partner with an external provider for these services, and their fees are tied to actual usage rather than a flat rate. Rather than guessing how often you’ll call or text and charging a higher fixed price, we’ve chosen a pay-as-you-go model. This approach ensures that customers who make fewer calls or send fewer messages aren’t paying more than necessary each month.

How much do phone calls cost?

Calling others  $0.014/min -> $10 gives you about 475 outgoing calls

Receiving calls: $0.0085/min -> $10 gives you about 780 incoming calls

How much do emails cost?

Cost for email: $0.001 per email = $10 for 10,000 emails

How much do SMS text messages cost?

Costs for texts: $0.0079/segment. Calculate how many segments your message has with the segment calculator

How often are the group meetings?

We hold one weekly group meeting with different focus on:

What if I can't attend a live meeting?

All meetings are recorded and available in our member portal. You can also submit questions in advance and review the answers in the recording.

How many people are in each group?

We start with a maximum of 10 members to ensure everyone gets personalized attention and the opportunity to participate actively.

Can multiple people from my organization join the meetings?

Yes! Your membership includes access for all you and your team members to attend all group meetings and access community resources.

What happens if we want to take over management ourselves?

No problem - just switch to the individual plan and take it from there.
